I turned 40 earlier this month, which led to some reflection on what I’m trying to accomplish with my time and effort as a bike advocate and preacher (I’m not a preacher, but I do feel like a bike preacher most days!). Electric Bike Library and Cargo Bike Share

I’ve had the good fortune of helping, sponsoring, and consulting on various eBike lending libraries across North America. They certainly are helping push the demand and fill in gaps where folks may not be able to afford their own bike or need one that often.

Another great option finally hitting the US is cargo bike share, which is similar to car share. You sign up and can use an expensive cargo bike only when you need it.

I am a big proponent of biking with a camera always running. I want to protect myself in case of a hit-and-run or a “he said/she said” lawsuit, send photos to my local town when improvements could be made or things are broken, and document beautiful moments biking with my family.
